In the age of viral chaos, nothing blends scandal and pop culture quite like a Coldplay concert, a kiss cam, and a possible Simpsons prophecy. When Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot were caught getting cozy on the kiss cam during a Coldplay concert on Wednesday, the internet didn’t just react—it spiraled. As if the surprise PDA wasn’t enough, social media users began claiming that The Simpsons had predicted the moment years ago. Yes, really.
The clip of the kiss cam moment quickly made its rounds online after Coldplay frontman Chris Martin added fuel to the fire by joking, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re very shy.” That single comment turned what might have been an awkward blip into a full-blown internet frenzy.
As the video went viral, so did a screenshot allegedly from a 2017 episode of The Simpsons that appeared to show two characters caught on a kiss cam in a pose strikingly similar to Byron and Cabot’s. One user claimed that The Simpsons had once again predicted the future, referring to the CEO scandal at the Coldplay concert.

Another post amped up the drama, suggesting that The Simpsons knew it all, calling out tech CEO Andy Byron’s secret relationship with HR head Kristin Cabot after the Coldplay concert, and noting how the internet ran wild with it.
Is there anything the Simpsons don’t know!!

But not everyone was convinced. One user questioned whether the alleged Simpsons scene was real, asking if anyone could confirm whether the show had actually featured the Coldplay affair.

Is the viral Simpson’s photo real or AI?
Turns out, the viral Simpsons image wasn’t real after all. A quick search on wasitai.com confirmed that the image was AI-generated—just another example of how fast fiction can blur with reality online.
Astronomer’s statement
Meanwhile, the fallout from the kiss cam incident is unfolding in real-time at Astronomer HQ. The company released a statement on LinkedIn addressing the situation. The post read, “Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability. The Board of Directors has initiated a formal investigation into this matter, and we will have additional details to share very shortly.” They further clarified, “Alyssa Stoddard was not at the event and no other employees were in the video. Andy Byron has not put out any statement; reports saying otherwise are all incorrect.”
Shortly after, a follow-up post announced a leadership shake-up: “Cofounder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy is currently serving as interim CEO, given Andy Byron has been placed on leave. We will share more details as appropriate in the coming days.”
