CEO Andy Byron Speaks Out, Apologizes to His Wife, Company, and Addresses Public Outrage Over Private Moment Being Exposed

The ongoing scandal involving CEO Andy Byron and HR Director Kristin Cabot remains a hot topic on social media. A video of the two being caught in an intimate moment during a recent Coldplay concert at Gillette Stadium (Boston, USA) has gone viral at lightning speed.

Countless netizens have flooded the personal accounts of both individuals, as well as the company where they work, demanding a public response.

This “undeniable affair” moment is spreading rapidly across social platforms.

Shortly after, a statement purportedly from CEO Andy Byron began circulating online—his first public apology following the shocking scandal.

The text, believed to be Andy Byron’s apology, is being widely shared on social media.

The apology spread quickly as public attention intensified. However, the authenticity of this apology has yet to be verified.

According to the document, Andy Byron admitted to personal mistakes, offered an apology, and called for respect for his privacy:
“I want to sincerely apologize to my wife, my family, and the team at Astronomer. Everyone deserves better from me—as a partner, a father, and a leader.”

“This is not the person I want to become, nor the image I want to represent for the company I helped build. I am taking time to reflect, take responsibility, and determine my next steps—both personally and professionally. I ask for privacy during this time.”

The apology, signed by Andy Byron, also expressed concern over his private moment being made public:
“I also want to express my concern that a moment which should have been private was exposed without my consent. I respect artists and entertainers, but I hope we can all reflect more deeply on the impact of turning someone else’s life into a spectacle.”

Full text of the apology, attributed to Andy Byron, now widely shared online (translated version):

Statement from CEO Andy Byron

New York, New York – July 17, 2025

I want to acknowledge the moment that is spreading online, along with the disappointment it has caused. What should have been a night full of music and joy turned into a serious personal mistake, exposed on a very public stage.

I want to sincerely apologize to my wife, my family, and the team at Astronomer. You all deserve better from me—as a partner, a father, and a leader. This is not the person I want to become, nor is it the way I want to represent the company I helped build.

I am taking time to reflect, take responsibility, and determine my next steps both personally and professionally. I ask for privacy as I navigate this process.

I also want to express my concern that a moment which should have been private was made public without my consent. I respect artists and performers, but I hope all of us can reflect more deeply on the impact of turning someone else’s life into a public spectacle. As a friend once sang: “Lights will guide you home, and ignite your bones, and I will try to fix you.”

However, this very statement has become a focal point of anger among netizens, who feel he is blaming the event for the recording and sharing of the private moment, rather than fully owning up to his affair.

“Expressing concern about a private moment being made public without consent—this might be the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard,” “Why not give a sincere apology instead of blaming others,” “The apology just makes it more of a joke,” … are some of the comments from users on platform X.

Currently, this apology letter continues to spread at a rapid pace, with numerous media outlets reposting it. However, it is important to note that the authenticity of the apology remains unconfirmed. “It could be fake,” commented Hindustan Times.

After the incident exploded on social media, Andy Byron has hidden or deleted his accounts.

At this time, neither Andy Byron nor his company has made any official statement regarding the apology letter. U.S. media have also not confirmed whether the relationship has affected the company’s internal affairs or the CEO’s marriage.

According to LinkedIn, Byron was President of Lacework from 2019 to 2022, then briefly served as an advisor. From 2017 to 2019, he was Chief Revenue Officer at Cybereason. Byron has also been President and COO of Fuze and held multiple leadership roles at Vericenter and BMC Software.

Since July 2023, Byron has served as CEO of Astronomer—a data infrastructure technology startup developing the Astro platform, which helps businesses manage data flows and deploy AI more easily. The company is headquartered in New York.

Byron is married to Megan Kerrigan Byron, and they have two children together. Both keep a low profile on social media.
