FOX Sports is taking heat over its statement on Mark Sanchez following the stabbing incident involving the former NFL quarterback-turned-analyst over the weekend.

Sanchez was arrested in an Indianapolis hospital, having gone in in critical condition after getting stabbed early Saturday morning.
According to reports, Sanchez initiated the altercation, confronting a truck driver and exhibiting some “erratic” behavior. The driver told police he used pepper spray to defend himself and was forced to use a knife after that didn’t work.
The former QB was in town to call Sunday’s Raiders-Colts game, but ended up in the hospital instead and is probably lucky to be alive after getting stabbed in the chest. His employers addressed the matter ahead of their NFL coverage on Sunday, with Curt Menefee making a brief statement.
“Friday night in Indianapolis, one of our team members, Mark Sanchez, was involved in an incident that, to be honest, we’re still trying to wrap our heads around,” he said. “At this time, our thoughts and prayers are with Mark, his family, and all of those involved.”
It turns out that Charissa Thompson had made the exact same statement nearly an hour before.

“Read lawyer supplied statement not issued. If she said “Mark is a dangerous drunk but so much fun. No matter how many lives he endangers” that would be her statement,” someone added.
“Any thoughts and prayers for the 69-year-old grease truck driver that the 230 pound former QB assaulted and tried to beat to a pulp?” a user asked.
“And all those involved”. You mean the victim??” another commented.

Sanchez was replaced by Brady Quinn on Sunday; his future at the network in light of this is unclear.

Your kids don’t even want your last name anymore.” I didn’t react, just smiled and slid a sealed envelope across the desk and said, “Give this to your client.” By that evening, my phone was blowing up—her mother was screaming on the line, “How did you find out about that secret she’s been hiding for thirteen years?!”
