The game shows have been locked in a tense ratings battle this year

JEOPARDY! and Wheel of Fortune will be available to stream the day after they air on TV as part of a huge new deal.

From this fall, Sony Pictures Television will allow Hulu and Peacock to show the hit game shows on their services in a landmark next-day streaming rights package.

“We are thrilled to bring America’s favorite game shows to an even wider audience on Hulu, Hulu on Disney+, and Peacock,” said Sony Pictures Television chairman Keith Le Goy.

“Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune are two of the most successful game shows in television history, and we look forward to giving fans the best possible streaming access to our shows this fall.”

The streaming deal is separate to the syndication row Sony is currently involved in with CBS, which allows local stations to screen episodes.

The two entertainment giants are currently in a legal wrangle after Sony sued CBS for allegedly breaching their deal and attempting to syndicate the show abroad.

Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune are two of America’s best-loved shows.

The latter is now hosted by Ryan Seacrest and received a boost earlier this year when its average ratings tallied nearly 8 million, up three percent on the previous year.

However, The U.S. Sun recently revealed Jeopardy! continues to be the preferred favorite among viewers.

In early March, Jeopardy! pulled a solid 8,902,000 viewers tune in, according to Nielsen.

While Wheel of Fortune trailed behind in the number two spot with 8,477,000 viewers.

In third came Family Feud with 7,218,000 fans.

Ryan, 50, took over from Pat Sajak last September.

Despite his experience, the TV veteran had trouble adjusting to his role as host during the first few episodes.

On the season premiere, a contestant mispronounced the word “ripened” while solving a puzzle.

Ryan ignored the mishap and granted the player the win.

For his second night as host, he failed to explain the rules to a contestant, causing her to lose a million-dollar prize.

And just last week, Ryan faced backlash again when he didn’t explain to contestants how to properly solve the crossword puzzle.

One fan fired, “Ryan should remind them every time. It’s only fair.”

A second said, “Yeah, but if you watch this so regularly, you know that Ryan reminds you. He didn’t do that here. It was a screw up.”

A third complained, “Pat ALWAYS made sure to list the rules for these more meta puzzles!”
