Bad Bunny has been accused of racism and bigotry following the NFL officially unveiling him as the Super Bowl 60 Halftime Show performer.
The league confirmed the Puerto Rican artist as the next Super Bowl’s HT headline after discussing the possibility with Taylor Swift, whose make-or-break demand ended up going the break route.
“What I’m feeling goes beyond myself,” the rapper said.
“It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture, and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL.”
Bad Bunny Slammed Over Comments
Bad Bunny previously revealed that he would keep his tour off U.S. soil due to ICE fears, though he has confirmed that he will make an exception for the Super Bowl.
“I’ve been thinking about it these days, and after discussing it with my team, I think I’ll do just one date in the United States,” he said.
Conservative activist Robby Starbuck shared a post after the NFL’s announcement, condemning the NFL and Roc Nation’s decision, citing a comment referencing “gringos.”
Bad Bunny was picked by @NFL @RocNation to play the Super Bowl this year.
He made the following racist comment: "I highly doubt the type of gringos I don’t fuck with listen to me. Those were all the people at the Super Bown who were pissed odd about how Latino the halftime show… pic.twitter.com/UqU5Ksobkm

“I highly doubt the type of gringos I don’t f**k with listen to me. Those were all the people at the Super Bowl who were pissed off about how Latino the halftime show was,” it reads.
“Ask the NFL why they’re putting a bigot like this on stage!” Starbuck wrote, adding contact information for the league, commissioner Roger Goodell, and Roc Nation.
It appears the campaign to have Bad Bunny removed as the halftime show performer is underway. However, something tells us it will fall on deaf ears.
Meanwhile, Jay-Z has explained his decision to have the 31-year-old follow Kendrick Lamar as the next SB star, claiming that what he has “done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring. We are honored to have him on the world’s biggest stage.”
